Background:  Owner/Developer applied to sub-divide the existing block of approx 1,730m² in 2002.  Local residents vigorously opposed the application, which was later rejected by Council.  A subsequent appeal by the Developer to V.C.A.T. was also rejected.  The Owner/Developer then applied to Council for a building permit in an attempt to circumvent the earlier V.C.A.T. and Council sub-division decisions.  This was rejected by Council and the matter was yet again referred to V.C.A.T..

M.R.G. Stance & Activities:  M.R.G. supported the Local Residents from the Alto Area in opposing this second application. 

Current Status:  The Owner/Developer’s second V.C.A.T. appeal was successful by the smallest of technical margins.   However the applicant has had significant restrictions imposed on his permit, achieved essentially by the various objections submitted.
